Bastille Day Paris Fireworks (Quatorze Juillet Feu d'Artifice) 2017 Part 1

We managed to make it to the Paris fireworks for the fifth consecutive year.  It's worth it to arrange your schedule to be here just for the fireworks.  You won't find better anywhere, in my humble opinion.  No where else has an Eiffel Tower to shoot them off every inch of!

This is the first of two fireworks photo galleries.  [Click here to see the second gallery.]

A lot of people have been asking me why the tower looks like this - like a white outline of itself.  You'll never see this look in person!  Those are the lights that normally sparkle all over the tower at the top of every hour.  But, to take photos like this, the shutter has to be open for a few seconds to capture all the light during that time.  In the final picture, it looks like all these lights were on at once, instead of flickering manically like in real life.

If you liked these, you might also like the photos from previous years.  Each photo gallery is unique since each is taken from a different location around Paris.

  1. Great pictures! It reminds me of Place de la Bastille, the square is now an official historical monument of France.
I tried to write a blog about it, hope you like it also https://stenote.blogspot.com/2021/01/paris-at-place-de-la-bastille.html
